Dear Vonda,
Vivelle-Dot is Transdermal Estradiol. Every woman should be given the Drug info and WARNING to read before receiving this prescription. Estradiol is a known carcinogen. It causes "increased risks of myocardial infarction, stroke, invasive breast cancer, pulmonary emboli, and deep vein thrombosis." Most women have no idea how dangerous Estradiol is if it is not given in balance with Estriol and Progesterone.

As you can see from Kindle's case above, the amount of hormones that you need depends on your individual lab analysis, but you need to supplement Estriol and Progesterone in balance. If your serum Estradiol is below below 20pg/ml you may need to supplement it as well, but it should never be given alone if you want to prevent cancer.

I prescribe sublingual Estriol and Progesterone supplements from a compounding pharmacy for my patients. For more information about how you can get a Rx filled for your individual needs please call my Clinic at 480-991-5092.

I had a total hysterectomy. I have been on Vivelle Dot. I have had insomina since surgery and racing heart at night. May be adding progest. cream. Where do you get estriol who makes it? Any help at this point would be great.

Well, the truth is as I had been arguing with my associate about this, he had difficulty listening to me. It came to the point where I was starting to feel I'm mistaken hahah. I understand that I am right now :D

Dear Yvonne,

Yes there is a natural Bio-Identical Hormone therapy for hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s Thyroid. Thanks for submitting your question.

Hashimoto’s Disease is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. It causes 90% of the cases of hypothyroidsim. It is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system attacks itself and prevents the thyroid from functioning optimally.

Hypothyroidism affects as many as one out of every 10 women. In my clinic I prescribe natural Thyroid hormone for Hypothyroidism. It is natural, but must be obtained by prescription only. It is much more effective than the synthetic thyroid, because it includes both the T4 as well as T3 hormones. Recent studies have shown that people who take only T4, as in Synthroid, etc., have poorer memory and cognitive function and are more depressed than people to take both T4 and T3, as is found in natural thyroid products, including Naturethroid, Westhroid, or Armour Thyroid.

You should ask you physician to prescribe the natural thyroid hormones and have him test your freeT3 and free T4 as well as TSH.

You need to make sure your Adrenal Glands are working correctly as well. They produce cortisol which activate thyroid receptors. If you experience lightheadedness when you stoop over or stand up, you probably have adrenal fatigue and low cortisol due to stress. Your thyroid will not function optimally until you improve your adrenal function.

Nutrients that are important in order to sustain a healthy thyroid production and/or Thyroid receptor activity include Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Selenium and Zinc. Omega-3 fatty acids, from fish, also play an important role in Thyroid function. Exercise also boosts thyroid function.

Mild hypothyroidism and even severe hypothyroidism are benefited by taking a high potency multi-vitamin mineral formula. I recommend Peak Advantage. For more information on Peak Advantage, please click here:

Best in health,
Dr. Hansen

Is there a Bio-Identical Hormone therapy for thyroid disease? I have Hashimoto's disease and am currently taking 75 mcg of Synthroid. I would like to get off the Synthroid and get on something natural.
